Funeral services for Shirley Swinney, age 83, of Jacksonville will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 13,2010 at Autry Funeral Home chapel, Jacksonville. Rev. Vernon Lee and Rev. Scott Brown will officiate. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery, Jacksonville
Mrs. Swinney died Saturday in Jacksonville. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Jacksonville , and was a past secretary of the Mary Martha Sunday School Class. Shirley was a former member of the Pink Ladies Auxillary of ETMC, Jacksonville. She was an avid Duplicate Bridge player and enjoyed knitting and cross stitching.
Mrs. Swinney was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Swinney, and her parents J. C. and Blanche Rhoades.
Survivors are her daughter and son in-law; Connie & Rex Jowell, Jacksonville, sisters, Dolores Davis, Memphis, Texas, Carol Sealy, Granbury, Tx. Grandchildren, Chris and Kelli Jowell, Shreveport, La., Traci & John Speaker, Bullard. Great Grandchildren, Jackson Jowell, Chesni and Andi Speaker.
Pallbearers will be: Troy Hopper, Chris Jowell, John Speaker, Richard Walters, Kannon Hood, Frazier Nolley, and Mike Hood.
Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 pm Monday, July 12, 2010 at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
Memorials in memory of Mrs. Swinney may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
