Graveside services for Geneva Dickson, age 95, of Tyler, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 31, at Resthaven Memorial Park, Jacksonville, under the direction of Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
Mrs. Dickson was born in 1915 in Cherokee County, Texas, and passed away July 28 in Tyler. Her husband, Curtis Dickson, predeceased her.
Mrs. Dickson earned a bachelors degree from Sam Houston State Teachers College in Huntsville and her masters degree from Stephen F. Austin State College in Nacogdoches. She taught at New Hope, Lufkin and Nacogdoches before moving to Dallas and teaching for Armstrong Elementary in Highland Park where she retired in 1983.
Mrs. Dickson was a longtime member of Park Cities Baptist Church and wished memorials to be made to the church at 3933 Northwest Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75225.
Survivors include son Charles Dickson and wife Nell of Tyler, grandchildren Christopher Dickson of San Antonio, Rebecca Groves of Wichita Falls, Jennifer Cheatham of Frisco and six great-grandchildren.
