Obituary for Allan Baxter

Allan Dale Baxter, age 72, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2019 in Jacksonville. He was born November 8, 1946 in Dallas County to Guy and Gladys (McCoy) Baxter.
Allan was a Class of 1965 graduate from W.W. Samuell High School and attended Dallas Baptist University in 1966. He served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1969. He was a member of First Christian Church in Jacksonville and worked for the Sante Fe Railroad.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Sandra Sue Baxter.
Left to cherish his memory is his son, Robert Baxter and wife Mendy; daughter, Shannon Pittman and husband Thelbert; sister, Wanda Bowman. He is also survived by grandchildren, Kelton Baxter, Jameka King, Matthew Pittman, Kelsey Pittman and Adrianna Baxter; numerous great-grandchildren and a nephew, Jason Bowman.
Visitation will begin on Saturday, July 13, 2019 and friends are cordially invited to visit with the Baxter family from 6 to 8 o’clock in the evening at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
A funeral service is scheduled at 2 o’clock in the afternoon Sunday, July 14, 2019 at First Christian Church in Jacksonville. Pastor Barbara Morgan will officiate. Mr. Baxter will be laid to rest at Balentine Cemetery in Frankston. Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
