Obituary for Annie "Lou" Bunn

Annie “Lou” Luella Bunn of New Summerfield, Texas was welcomed into the kingdom of Heaven on July 27th, 2020 in Grapevine, Texas at 89 years of age.
Annie Luella Choate was born October 16,1930 to Roy and Mattie Choate in Jacksonville, Texas. She was the youngest of three children. She grew up and went to school in Jacksonville. Her best friend, and future sister in law, Evelyn, introduced her to the love of her life.
Lou married Doyle Edwin Bunn on October 24th, 1954. They made their home in New Salem, later moving to New Summerfield with their daughter, Brenda.
She was a woman of strong faith, who knew her Bible, and loved her Church. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church, New Summerfield where she could be found multiple times per week in the left middle pew. She was active in the WMA, serving in many positions, including President. When her daughter was in school, she was active in New Summerfield PTA.
She babysat dozens of children in her home over the years, loving each one as her own. She looked forward to summers when her granddaughters would visit to play with the other children and attend vacation Bible school.
In the past 3 years Lou had been living in Fort Worth, Texas at Legend Oaks Nursing home. She loved being closer to family, especially her great grandchildren. She enjoyed playing bingo, socializing at physical therapy, and of course, talking on the phone.
Lou was preceded in death by her parents, Roy, and Mattie; her beloved husband, Doyle; and her brothers, Bernis Milton Choate Sr. and Thomas Winston Choate.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Childress and husband Mike of Keller, Texas; granddaughter Savannah Harris and husband Cliff of Trophy Club, Texas; granddaughter Cortney Tennison and husband Austin of Fort Worth, Texas; great-grandchildren Seth, Pate, and Nash Harris, Ethan and Violet Tennison; nieces Margo Daniels, Sharon Choate, and Myrna McKinney; and nephews Bernis “Chip” Choate, Jr., Cecil Bunn, David Bunn, Gary Sanders, and Kim Sanders. She is also survived by many wonderful friends including JoAnn Light and Lavora Dunford, as well as her church family.
Visitation will be from 1pm to 6pm on Thursday, July 30th at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville, Texas. A graveside service will be held at 10 am Friday July 31st at McDonald Cemetery in New Summerfield, Texas. The service will be officiated by Brother Eddie Marsh, with Prayer offered by Brother David Hellwig.
Pallbearers will be David Bunn, Gary Sanders, Cliff Harris, Austin Tennison, Seth Harris, and Ethan Tennison. Honorary pallbearers are Robert Magee and Cecil Bunn.
